Brice de Warlincourt
His current artistic practice is the result of a fusion of origami and lutherie techniques. The first step was to apply, somewhat by chance, the calculations of proportion used to fret the fingerboard of a guitar, and then the work of color with inks and dyes opened up a path that, to his knowledge, had not been travelled before.
Folding is first and foremost a technique, the first to be inscribed in matter, in the same way as painting or calculating proportion are different techniques, and it's the combination of these techniques with intention, a certain eye and a good dose of luck that ultimately results in a painting that he sees as art. He sees himself as a jack-of-all-trades, blessed by providence, a lover of thought, lazy to the point of efficiency, incapable of perfection and a friend of chance.
