Ida Jenny

Ida Jenny was born in Israel in 1976. Her father was a chief engineer on board a merchant ship, her mother a graduate professor at the Dutch Academy of Arts.

Ida Jenny spent her entire childhood on the seas with her parents. During her stopovers she discovered many foreign countries and cultures. Her mother takes care of her teaching. Bathed in such a special environment, it is not surprising that the little girl learns to sing and paint long before she speaks and writes .....

From these years of youth, Ida Jenny will be enriched by the cultures, men and colours she will have come into contact with and which will guide her entire artistic approach.

Ida Jenny came to Valais for the first time in 2009. She fell under the charm of the places and the landscapes and decided to settle there. She is particularly attracted by the light that these landscapes generate and it is this light, which she finds so special, that leads her to develop her "photo-realistic" painting technique.

Ida Jenny plays with her pigments with great sensitivity. Her secret. The great variety of pigments used allows her to reproduce details with such precision that many visitors will think they are looking at a photo. It will then be for her the most beautiful compliment.
